Tauranga's newly developed Strand sparkles with fine restaurants, cafes, & bars. A perfect place to sit and relax by the waterfront.
Tauranga has great shopping, with a range of department stores, speciality shops and souvenir outlets. A strong art community includes the New Tauranga Art Gallery and the Cargo Shed Creative Arts. Kids will be kept happy with a great range of activities on offer, including wildlife and animal parks, hot pools, tenpin bowling, mini golf, Blo-karts, swim with the dolphins, or embark on a guided kayaking tour.
Tauranga is the main centre of the coastal Bay of Plenty region and is located at the entrance to one of the largest natural harbours in New Zealand. Mount Maunganui is a dormant volcano that dominates the harbour and it is the heart of Maori culture in the region. The sandy white beaches at the Mount are bustling year round with surfers, swimmers and kite surfers.
Base yourself in the Bay of Plenty and be within a short drive to main cities in the Central North Island.
